SVSU Foundation
Here is a short collection of long-form pieces from my time with the SVSU Foundation, Saginaw Valley State University's scholarship and grant funding department. The foundation encourages alumni, faculty, and donors to continue providing financial assistance to SVSU students. By highlighting hands-on student experiences, prestigious alumni, and classroom teaching practices, the SVSU Foundation funds scholarships for hundreds of students.
Garner Cardinal Business Edge
The GCBE is an advanced leadership group within the business college, accepting only 25 students each year. To highlight the newly built College of Business at SVSU, writing about this group was the perfect way to start. I wrote this piece from the perspective of an alumna who didn't know about GCBE. Thankfully, I had no idea this specialized group existed until I began researching, making me the intended audience.
SVSU Women’s Engineers
SVSU is well known for being a diverse university, giving a chance to all students, no matter their background. I wanted to showcase the university's push for equality and diversity in the workplace. I found a grant for the SVSU Women Engineers group on campus to attend a national engineer’s conference. This story was impactful for the engineering school as a whole. SVSU's Women Engineers used this conference as a recruiting event, informing upcoming students about women in STEM and how they’re changing the engineering field.
